Well today is the first day of the second trimester, yay! I'm 14 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I had my appointment with Dr. Khan, my cardiac electrophysiologist....I usually just refer to her as my cardiologist. LOL. She was amazing as usual.
The EKG was normal and she did not hear anything odd when she listened. Blood pressure was normal. She said I should expect the arrythmias to be worse while pregnany because 1. my body is making more blood than usual and 2. my body is making more adrenaline than usual. She said that as the weather changes and it gets hot is when my arrythmias will increase and I will have issues. She suggested I increase my potassium and always have gatorade or something along those lines with me when it begins to get hotter. She said I shouldn't go outside in the summer, beginning in May, any more than I have to. She said I can't go grocery shopping starting in May alone...that I need to always have someone with me due to the possibility that walking from the car to the store or vice versa could be too much for my heart. A pregnant woman passing out and her grocery cart flying into someone else's car would NOT be a good thing.
If my arrythmias "scare" me, because they're normal to me now, then I'm to call and make another appointment. Otherwise, I have an appointment the first Monday in August. If the EKG is normal then...good. If not, we discuss an induction to help my heart go back to normal quicker.
I see Dr. Sloan Monday and then we also schedule the next few appointments including the next ultrasound which is where we find out if we're buying stuff in BLUE or PINK! We can't wait! Well, until we have more to post...have a wonderful week!

New doctor, new sonogram!
After a rough experience with my old OB-Gyn office, Jarred and I agreed to go back to Craig Ranch and we're so glad we did! My doctor is now Dr. Heather Sloan and I love her! Even Carolyn, the OB nurse was amazing. I'm very happy. And to top it off, instead of having to schedule sonograms on separate days we get them the same time we schedule doctor appointments here.
Went to the doctor appointment yesterday and were surprised to find out we would get to see the baby on a sonogram! The baby was moving like crazy! Dr. Sloan also told us she was pretty darn sure she could tell what it was, boy or girl. But, since I'm only 11 weeks and they don't do the official anatomy scan until 20 weeks, we're waiting to tell the world...just in case.

Anyway, here are two of the latest shots of our little one :)
